2013-10-13Bluetooth: Introduce a new HCI_RFKILLED flagJohan Hedberg
commit 5e130367d43ff22836bbae380d197d600fe8ddbb upstream. This makes it more convenient to check for rfkill (no need to check for dev->rfkill before calling rfkill_blocked()) and also avoids potential races if the RFKILL state needs to be checked from within the rfkill callback. 2013-10-13IPv6 NAT: Do not drop DNATed 6to4/6rd packetsCatalin(ux) M. BOIE
[ Upstream commit 7df37ff33dc122f7bd0614d707939fe84322d264 ] When a router is doing DNAT for 6to4/6rd packets the latest anti-spoofing commit 218774dc ("ipv6: add anti-spoofing checks for 6to4 and 6rd") will drop them because the IPv6 address embedded does not match the IPv4 destination. This patch will allow them to pass by testing if we have an address that matches on 6to4/6rd interface. I have been hit by this problem using Fedora and IPV6TO4_IPV4ADDR. Also, log the dropped packets (with rate limit). Signed-off-by: Catalin(ux) M. BOIE <catab@embedromix.ro> Acked-by: Hannes Frederic Sowa <hannes@stressinduktion.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-10-13ip: generate unique IP identificator if local fragmentation is allowedAnsis Atteka
[ Upstream commit 703133de331a7a7df47f31fb9de51dc6f68a9de8 ] If local fragmentation is allowed, then ip_select_ident() and ip_select_ident_more() need to generate unique IDs to ensure correct defragmentation on the peer. For example, if IPsec (tunnel mode) has to encrypt large skbs that have local_df bit set, then all IP fragments that belonged to different ESP datagrams would have used the same identificator. If one of these IP fragments would get lost or reordered, then peer could possibly stitch together wrong IP fragments that did not belong to the same datagram. This would lead to a packet loss or data corruption. Signed-off-by: Ansis Atteka <aatteka@nicira.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-10-13HID: fix data access in implement()Jiri Kosina
commit 27ce405039bfe6d3f4143415c638f56a3df77dca upstream. implement() is setting bytes in LE data stream. In case the data is not aligned to 64bits, it reads past the allocated buffer. It doesn't really change any value there (it's properly bitmasked), but in case that this read past the boundary hits a page boundary, pagefault happens when accessing 64bits of 'x' in implement(), and kernel oopses. This happens much more often when numbered reports are in use, as the initial 8bit skip in the buffer makes the whole process work on values which are not aligned to 64bits. This problem dates back to attempts in 2005 and 2006 to make implement() and extract() as generic as possible, and even back then the problem was realized by Adam Kroperlin, but falsely assumed to be impossible to cause any harm: http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-usb-devel@lists.sourceforge.net/msg47690.html I have made several attempts at fixing it "on the spot" directly in implement(), but the results were horrible; the special casing for processing last 64bit chunk and switching to different math makes it unreadable mess. I therefore took a path to allocate a few bytes more which will never make it into final report, but are there as a cushion for all the 64bit math operations happening in implement() and extract(). All callers of hid_output_report() are converted at the same time to allocate the buffer by newly introduced hid_alloc_report_buf() helper. Bruno noticed that the whole raw_size test can be dropped as well, as hid_alloc_report_buf() makes sure that the buffer is always of a proper size. 2013-10-05dm mpath: disable WRITE SAME if it failsMike Snitzer
commit f84cb8a46a771f36a04a02c61ea635c968ed5f6a upstream. Workaround the SCSI layer's problematic WRITE SAME heuristics by disabling WRITE SAME in the DM multipath device's queue_limits if an underlying device disabled it. The WRITE SAME heuristics, with both the original commit 5db44863b6eb ("[SCSI] sd: Implement support for WRITE SAME") and the updated commit 66c28f971 ("[SCSI] sd: Update WRITE SAME heuristics"), default to enabling WRITE SAME(10) even without successfully determining it is supported. After the first failed WRITE SAME the SCSI layer will disable WRITE SAME for the device (by setting sdkp->device->no_write_same which results in 'max_write_same_sectors' in device's queue_limits to be set to 0). When a device is stacked ontop of such a SCSI device any changes to that SCSI device's queue_limits do not automatically propagate up the stack. As such, a DM multipath device will not have its WRITE SAME support disabled. This causes the block layer to continue to issue WRITE SAME requests to the mpath device which causes paths to fail and (if mpath IO isn't configured to queue when no paths are available) it will result in actual IO errors to the upper layers. This fix doesn't help configurations that have additional devices stacked ontop of the mpath device (e.g. LVM created linear DM devices ontop). A proper fix that restacks all the queue_limits from the bottom of the device stack up will need to be explored if SCSI will continue to use this model of optimistically allowing op codes and then disabling them after they fail for the first time. 2013-10-01drm/radeon/si: Add support for CP DMA to CS checker for compute v2Tom Stellard
commit e5b9e7503eb1f4884efa3b321d3cc47806779202 upstream. Also add a new RADEON_INFO query to check that CP DMA packets are supported on the compute ring. CP DMA has been supported since the 3.8 kernel, but due to an oversight we forgot to teach the CS checker that the CP DMA packet was legal for the compute ring on Southern Islands GPUs. This patch fixes a bug where the radeon driver will incorrectly reject a legal CP DMA packet from user space. I would like to have the patch backported to stable so that we don't have to require Mesa users to use a bleeding edge kernel in order to take advantage of this feature which is already present in the stable kernels (3.8 and newer). v2: - Don't bump kms version, so this patch can be backported to stable kernels. 2013-09-26Introduce [compat_]save_altstack_ex() to unbreak x86 SMAPAl Viro
commit bd1c149aa9915b9abb6d83d0f01dfd2ace0680b5 upstream. For performance reasons, when SMAP is in use, SMAP is left open for an entire put_user_try { ... } put_user_catch(); block, however, calling __put_user() in the middle of that block will close SMAP as the STAC..CLAC constructs intentionally do not nest. Furthermore, using __put_user() rather than put_user_ex() here is bad for performance. Thus, introduce new [compat_]save_altstack_ex() helpers that replace __[compat_]save_altstack() for x86, being currently the only architecture which supports put_user_try { ... } put_user_catch(). 2013-09-26rculist: list_first_or_null_rcu() should use list_entry_rcu()Tejun Heo
commit c34ac00caefbe49d40058ae7200bd58725cebb45 upstream. list_first_or_null() should test whether the list is empty and return pointer to the first entry if not in a RCU safe manner. It's broken in several ways. * It compares __kernel @__ptr with __rcu @__next triggering the following sparse warning. net/core/dev.c:4331:17: error: incompatible types in comparison expression (different address spaces) * It doesn't perform rcu_dereference*() and computes the entry address using container_of() directly from the __rcu pointer which is inconsitent with other rculist interface. As a result, all three in-kernel users - net/core/dev.c, macvlan, cgroup - are buggy. They dereference the pointer w/o going through read barrier. * While ->next dereference passes through list_next_rcu(), the compiler is still free to fetch ->next more than once and thus nullify the "__ptr != __next" condition check. Fix it by making list_first_or_null_rcu() dereference ->next directly using ACCESS_ONCE() and then use list_entry_rcu() on it like other rculist accessors. v2: Paul pointed out that the compiler may fetch the pointer more than once nullifying the condition check. ACCESS_ONCE() added on ->next dereference. v3: Restored () around macro param which was accidentally removed. Spotted by Paul. 2013-09-14net_sched: restore "linklayer atm" handlingJesper Dangaard Brouer
[ Upstream commit 8a8e3d84b1719a56f9151909e80ea6ebc5b8e318 ] commit 56b765b79 ("htb: improved accuracy at high rates") broke the "linklayer atm" handling. tc class add ... htb rate X ceil Y linklayer atm The linklayer setting is implemented by modifying the rate table which is send to the kernel. No direct parameter were transferred to the kernel indicating the linklayer setting. The commit 56b765b79 ("htb: improved accuracy at high rates") removed the use of the rate table system. To keep compatible with older iproute2 utils, this patch detects the linklayer by parsing the rate table. It also supports future versions of iproute2 to send this linklayer parameter to the kernel directly. This is done by using the __reserved field in struct tc_ratespec, to convey the choosen linklayer option, but only using the lower 4 bits of this field. Linklayer detection is limited to speeds below 100Mbit/s, because at high rates the rtab is gets too inaccurate, so bad that several fields contain the same values, this resembling the ATM detect. Fields even start to contain "0" time to send, e.g. at 1000Mbit/s sending a 96 bytes packet cost "0", thus the rtab have been more broken than we first realized. 2013-08-29Revert "x86 get_unmapped_area(): use proper mmap base for bottom-up direction"Linus Torvalds
commit 5ea80f76a56605a190a7ea16846c82aa63dbd0aa upstream. This reverts commit df54d6fa54275ce59660453e29d1228c2b45a826. The commit isn't necessarily wrong, but because it recalculates the random mmap_base every time, it seems to confuse user memory allocators that expect contiguous mmap allocations even when the mmap address isn't specified. In particular, the MATLAB Java runtime seems to be unhappy. See https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60774 So we'll want to apply the random offset only once, and Radu has a patch for that. Revert this older commit in order to apply the other one. 2013-08-29SCSI: zfcp: fix lock imbalance by reworking request queue lockingMartin Peschke
commit d79ff142624e1be080ad8d09101f7004d79c36e1 upstream. This patch adds wait_event_interruptible_lock_irq_timeout(), which is a straight-forward descendant of wait_event_interruptible_timeout() and wait_event_interruptible_lock_irq(). The zfcp driver used to call wait_event_interruptible_timeout() in combination with some intricate and error-prone locking. Using wait_event_interruptible_lock_irq_timeout() as a replacement nicely cleans up that locking. This rework removes a situation that resulted in a locking imbalance in zfcp_qdio_sbal_get(): BUG: workqueue leaked lock or atomic: events/1/0xffffff00/10 last function: zfcp_fc_wka_port_offline+0x0/0xa0 [zfcp] It was introduced by commit c2af7545aaff3495d9bf9a7608c52f0af86fb194 "[SCSI] zfcp: Do not wait for SBALs on stopped queue", which had a new code path related to ZFCP_STATUS_ADAPTER_QDIOUP that took an early exit without a required lock being held. The problem occured when a special, non-SCSI I/O request was being submitted in process context, when the adapter's queues had been torn down. In this case the bug surfaced when the Fibre Channel port connection for a well-known address was closed during a concurrent adapter shut-down procedure, which is a rare constellation. This patch also fixes these warnings from the sparse tool (make C=1): drivers/s390/scsi/zfcp_qdio.c:224:12: warning: context imbalance in 'zfcp_qdio_sbal_check' - wrong count at exit drivers/s390/scsi/zfcp_qdio.c:244:5: warning: context imbalance in 'zfcp_qdio_sbal_get' - unexpected unlock Last but not least, we get rid of that crappy lock-unlock-lock sequence at the beginning of the critical section. It is okay to call zfcp_erp_adapter_reopen() with req_q_lock held. 2013-08-29tracing: trace_remove_event_call() should fail if call/file is in useOleg Nesterov
commit 2816c551c796ec14620325b2c9ed75b9979d3125 upstream. Change trace_remove_event_call(call) to return the error if this call is active. This is what the callers assume but can't verify outside of the tracing locks. Both trace_kprobe.c/trace_uprobe.c need the additional changes, unregister_trace_probe() should abort if trace_remove_event_call() fails. The caller is going to free this call/file so we must ensure that nobody can use them after trace_remove_event_call() succeeds. debugfs should be fine after the previous changes and event_remove() does TRACE_REG_UNREGISTER, but still there are 2 reasons why we need the additional checks: - There could be a perf_event(s) attached to this tp_event, so the patch checks ->perf_refcount. - TRACE_REG_UNREGISTER can be suppressed by FTRACE_EVENT_FL_SOFT_MODE, so we simply check FTRACE_EVENT_FL_ENABLED protected by event_mutex. 2013-08-29ACPI: Try harder to resolve _ADR collisions for bridgesRafael J. Wysocki
commit 60f75b8e97daf4a39790a20d962cb861b9220af5 upstream. In theory, under a given ACPI namespace node there should be only one child device object with _ADR whose value matches a given bus address exactly. In practice, however, there are systems in which multiple child device objects under a given parent have _ADR matching exactly the same address. In those cases we use _STA to determine which of the multiple matching devices is enabled, since some systems are known to indicate which ACPI device object to associate with the given physical (usually PCI) device this way. Unfortunately, as it turns out, there are systems in which many device objects under the same parent have _ADR matching exactly the same bus address and none of them has _STA, in which case they all should be regarded as enabled according to the spec. Still, if those device objects are supposed to represent bridges (e.g. this is the case for device objects corresponding to PCIe ports), we can try harder and skip the ones that have no child device objects in the ACPI namespace. With luck, we can avoid using device objects that we are not expected to use this way. Although this only works for bridges whose children also have ACPI namespace representation, it is sufficient to address graphics adapter detection issues on some systems, so rework the code finding a matching device ACPI handle for a given bus address to implement this idea. Introduce a new function, acpi_find_child(), taking three arguments: the ACPI handle of the device's parent, a bus address suitable for the device's bus type and a bool indicating if the device is a bridge and make it work as outlined above. Reimplement the function currently used for this purpose, acpi_get_child(), as a call to acpi_find_child() with the last argument set to 'false' and make the PCI subsystem use acpi_find_child() with the bridge information passed as the last argument to it. [Lan Tianyu notices that it is not sufficient to use pci_is_bridge() for that, because the device's subordinate pointer hasn't been set yet at this point, so use hdr_type instead.] This change fixes a regression introduced inadvertently by commit 33f767d (ACPI: Rework acpi_get_child() to be more efficient) which overlooked the fact that for acpi_walk_namespace() "post-order" means "after all children have been visited" rather than "on the way back", so for device objects without children and for namespace walks of depth 1, as in the acpi_get_child() case, the "post-order" callbacks ordering is actually the same as the ordering of "pre-order" ones. Since that commit changed the namespace walk in acpi_get_child() to terminate after finding the first matching object instead of going through all of them and returning the last one, it effectively changed the result returned by that function in some rare cases and that led to problems (the switch from a "pre-order" to a "post-order" callback was supposed to prevent that from happening, but it was ineffective). As it turns out, the systems where the change made by commit 33f767d actually matters are those where there are multiple ACPI device objects representing the same PCIe port (which effectively is a bridge). Moreover, only one of them, and the one we are expected to use, has child device objects in the ACPI namespace, so the regression can be addressed as described above. 2013-08-20Fix TLB gather virtual address range invalidation corner casesLinus Torvalds
commit 2b047252d087be7f2ba088b4933cd904f92e6fce upstream. Ben Tebulin reported: "Since v3.7.2 on two independent machines a very specific Git repository fails in 9/10 cases on git-fsck due to an SHA1/memory failures. This only occurs on a very specific repository and can be reproduced stably on two independent laptops. Git mailing list ran out of ideas and for me this looks like some very exotic kernel issue" and bisected the failure to the backport of commit 53a59fc67f97 ("mm: limit mmu_gather batching to fix soft lockups on !CONFIG_PREEMPT"). That commit itself is not actually buggy, but what it does is to make it much more likely to hit the partial TLB invalidation case, since it introduces a new case in tlb_next_batch() that previously only ever happened when running out of memory. The real bug is that the TLB gather virtual memory range setup is subtly buggered. It was introduced in commit 597e1c3580b7 ("mm/mmu_gather: enable tlb flush range in generic mmu_gather"), and the range handling was already fixed at least once in commit e6c495a96ce0 ("mm: fix the TLB range flushed when __tlb_remove_page() runs out of slots"), but that fix was not complete. The problem with the TLB gather virtual address range is that it isn't set up by the initial tlb_gather_mmu() initialization (which didn't get the TLB range information), but it is set up ad-hoc later by the functions that actually flush the TLB. And so any such case that forgot to update the TLB range entries would potentially miss TLB invalidates. Rather than try to figure out exactly which particular ad-hoc range setup was missing (I personally suspect it's the hugetlb case in zap_huge_pmd(), which didn't have the same logic as zap_pte_range() did), this patch just gets rid of the problem at the source: make the TLB range information available to tlb_gather_mmu(), and initialize it when initializing all the other tlb gather fields. This makes the patch larger, but conceptually much simpler. And the end result is much more understandable; even if you want to play games with partial ranges when invalidating the TLB contents in chunks, now the range information is always there, and anybody who doesn't want to bother with it won't introduce subtle bugs. Ben verified that this fixes his problem. 2013-08-20elevator: Fix a race in elevator switchingJianpeng Ma
commit d50235b7bc3ee0a0427984d763ea7534149531b4 upstream. There's a race between elevator switching and normal io operation. Because the allocation of struct elevator_queue and struct elevator_data don't in a atomic operation. So there are have chance to use NULL ->elevator_data. For example: Thread A: Thread B blk_queu_bio elevator_switch spin_lock_irq(q->queue_block) elevator_alloc elv_merge elevator_init_fn Because call elevator_alloc, it can't hold queue_lock and the ->elevator_data is NULL.So at the same time, threadA call elv_merge and nedd some info of elevator_data.So the crash happened. Move the elevator_alloc into func elevator_init_fn, it make the operations in a atomic operation. Using the follow method can easy reproduce this bug 1:dd if=/dev/sdb of=/dev/null 2:while true;do echo noop > scheduler;echo deadline > scheduler;done The test method also use this method. 2013-08-20microblaze: fix clone syscallMichal Simek
commit dfa9771a7c4784bafd0673bc7abcee3813088b77 upstream. Fix inadvertent breakage in the clone syscall ABI for Microblaze that was introduced in commit f3268edbe6fe ("microblaze: switch to generic fork/vfork/clone"). The Microblaze syscall ABI for clone takes the parent tid address in the 4th argument; the third argument slot is used for the stack size. The incorrectly-used CLONE_BACKWARDS type assigned parent tid to the 3rd slot. This commit restores the original ABI so that existing userspace libc code will work correctly. commit 786615bc1ce84150ded80daea6bd9f6297f48e73 upstream. If rpcbind causes our connection to the AF_LOCAL socket to close after we've registered a service, then we want to be careful about reconnecting since the mount namespace may have changed. By simply refusing to reconnect the AF_LOCAL socket in the case of unregister, we avoid the need to somehow save the mount namespace. commit ed5467da0e369e65b247b99eb6403cb79172bcda upstream. tracing_read_pipe zeros all fields bellow "seq". The declaration contains a comment about that, but it doesn't help. The first field is "snapshot", it's true when current open file is snapshot. Looks obvious, that it should not be zeroed. The second field is "started". It was converted from cpumask_t to cpumask_var_t (v2.6.28-4983-g4462344), in other words it was converted from cpumask to pointer on cpumask. Currently the reference on "started" memory is lost after the first read from tracing_read_pipe and a proper object will never be freed. The "started" is never dereferenced for trace_pipe, because trace_pipe can't have the TRACE_FILE_ANNOTATE options. 2013-08-11Revert "cpuidle: Quickly notice prediction failure for repeat mode"Rafael J. Wysocki
commit 148519120c6d1f19ad53349683aeae9f228b0b8d upstream. Revert commit 69a37bea (cpuidle: Quickly notice prediction failure for repeat mode), because it has been identified as the source of a significant performance regression in v3.8 and later as explained by Jeremy Eder: We believe we've identified a particular commit to the cpuidle code that seems to be impacting performance of variety of workloads. The simplest way to reproduce is using netperf TCP_RR test, so we're using that, on a pair of Sandy Bridge based servers. We also have data from a large database setup where performance is also measurably/positively impacted, though that test data isn't easily share-able. Included below are test results from 3 test kernels: kernel reverts ----------------------------------------------------------- 1) vanilla upstream (no reverts) 2) perfteam2 reverts e11538d1f03914eb92af5a1a378375c05ae8520c 3) test reverts 69a37beabf1f0a6705c08e879bdd5d82ff6486c4 e11538d1f03914eb92af5a1a378375c05ae8520c In summary, netperf TCP_RR numbers improve by approximately 4% after reverting 69a37beabf1f0a6705c08e879bdd5d82ff6486c4. When 69a37beabf1f0a6705c08e879bdd5d82ff6486c4 is included, C0 residency never seems to get above 40%. Taking that patch out gets C0 near 100% quite often, and performance increases. The below data are histograms representing the %c0 residency @ 1-second sample rates (using turbostat), while under netperf test. - If you look at the first 4 histograms, you can see %c0 residency almost entirely in the 30,40% bin. - The last pair, which reverts 69a37beabf1f0a6705c08e879bdd5d82ff6486c4, shows %c0 in the 80,90,100% bins. Below each kernel name are netperf TCP_RR trans/s numbers for the particular kernel that can be disclosed publicly, comparing the 3 test kernels. We ran a 4th test with the vanilla kernel where we've also set /dev/cpu_dma_latency=0 to show overall impact boosting single-threaded TCP_RR performance over 11% above baseline. 3.10-rc2 vanilla RX + c0 lock (/dev/cpu_dma_latency=0): TCP_RR trans/s 54323.78 ----------------------------------------------------------- 3.10-rc2 vanilla RX (no reverts) TCP_RR trans/s 48192.47 Receiver %c0 0.0000 - 10.0000 [ 1]: * 10.0000 - 20.0000 [ 0]: 20.0000 - 30.0000 [ 0]: 30.0000 - 40.0000 [ 59]: *********************************************************** 40.0000 - 50.0000 [ 1]: * 50.0000 - 60.0000 [ 0]: 60.0000 - 70.0000 [ 0]: 70.0000 - 80.0000 [ 0]: 80.0000 - 90.0000 [ 0]: 90.0000 - 100.0000 [ 0]: Sender %c0 0.0000 - 10.0000 [ 1]: * 10.0000 - 20.0000 [ 0]: 20.0000 - 30.0000 [ 0]: 30.0000 - 40.0000 [ 11]: *********** 40.0000 - 50.0000 [ 49]: ************************************************* 50.0000 - 60.0000 [ 0]: 60.0000 - 70.0000 [ 0]: 70.0000 - 80.0000 [ 0]: 80.0000 - 90.0000 [ 0]: 90.0000 - 100.0000 [ 0]: ----------------------------------------------------------- 3.10-rc2 perfteam2 RX (reverts commit e11538d1f03914eb92af5a1a378375c05ae8520c) TCP_RR trans/s 49698.69 Receiver %c0 0.0000 - 10.0000 [ 1]: * 10.0000 - 20.0000 [ 1]: * 20.0000 - 30.0000 [ 0]: 30.0000 - 40.0000 [ 59]: *********************************************************** 40.0000 - 50.0000 [ 0]: 50.0000 - 60.0000 [ 0]: 60.0000 - 70.0000 [ 0]: 70.0000 - 80.0000 [ 0]: 80.0000 - 90.0000 [ 0]: 90.0000 - 100.0000 [ 0]: Sender %c0 0.0000 - 10.0000 [ 1]: * 10.0000 - 20.0000 [ 0]: 20.0000 - 30.0000 [ 0]: 30.0000 - 40.0000 [ 2]: ** 40.0000 - 50.0000 [ 58]: ********************************************************** 50.0000 - 60.0000 [ 0]: 60.0000 - 70.0000 [ 0]: 70.0000 - 80.0000 [ 0]: 80.0000 - 90.0000 [ 0]: 90.0000 - 100.0000 [ 0]: ----------------------------------------------------------- 3.10-rc2 test RX (reverts 69a37beabf1f0a6705c08e879bdd5d82ff6486c4 and e11538d1f03914eb92af5a1a378375c05ae8520c) TCP_RR trans/s 47766.95 Receiver %c0 0.0000 - 10.0000 [ 1]: * 10.0000 - 20.0000 [ 1]: * 20.0000 - 30.0000 [ 0]: 30.0000 - 40.0000 [ 27]: *************************** 40.0000 - 50.0000 [ 2]: ** 50.0000 - 60.0000 [ 0]: 60.0000 - 70.0000 [ 2]: ** 70.0000 - 80.0000 [ 0]: 80.0000 - 90.0000 [ 0]: 90.0000 - 100.0000 [ 28]: **************************** Sender: 0.0000 - 10.0000 [ 1]: * 10.0000 - 20.0000 [ 0]: 20.0000 - 30.0000 [ 0]: 30.0000 - 40.0000 [ 11]: *********** 40.0000 - 50.0000 [ 0]: 50.0000 - 60.0000 [ 1]: * 60.0000 - 70.0000 [ 0]: 70.0000 - 80.0000 [ 3]: *** 80.0000 - 90.0000 [ 7]: ******* 90.0000 - 100.0000 [ 38]: ************************************** These results demonstrate gaining back the tendency of the CPU to stay in more responsive, performant C-states (and thus yield measurably better performance), by reverting commit 69a37beabf1f0a6705c08e879bdd5d82ff6486c4. 2013-08-04iscsi-target: Fix iscsit_add_reject* usage for iserNicholas Bellinger
commit ba159914086f06532079fc15141f46ffe7e04a41 upstream This patch changes iscsit_add_reject() + iscsit_add_reject_from_cmd() usage to not sleep on iscsi_cmd->reject_comp to address a free-after-use usage bug in v3.10 with iser-target code. It saves ->reject_reason for use within iscsit_build_reject() so the correct value for both transport cases. It also drops the legacy fail_conn parameter usage throughput iscsi-target code and adds two iscsit_add_reject_cmd() and iscsit_reject_cmd helper functions, along with various small cleanups. (v2: Re-enable target_put_sess_cmd() to be called from iscsit_add_reject_from_cmd() for rejects invoked after target_get_sess_cmd() has been called) Signed-off-by: Nicholas Bellinger <nab@linux-iscsi.org> Cc: Or Gerlitz <ogerlitz@mellanox.com> Cc: Mike Christie <michaelc@cs.wisc.edu> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2013-08-04firewire: fix libdc1394/FlyCap2 iso event regressionClemens Ladisch
commit 0699a73af3811b66b1ab5650575acee5eea841ab upstream. Commit 18d627113b83 (firewire: prevent dropping of completed iso packet header data) was intended to be an obvious bug fix, but libdc1394 and FlyCap2 depend on the old behaviour by ignoring all returned information and thus not noticing that not all packets have been received yet. The result was that the video frame buffers would be saved before they contained the correct data. Reintroduce the old behaviour for old clients. 2013-08-04iser-target: Fix session reset bug with RDMA_CM_EVENT_DISCONNECTEDNicholas Bellinger
commit b2cb96494d83b894a43ba8b9023eead8ff50684b upstream. This patch addresses a bug where RDMA_CM_EVENT_DISCONNECTED may occur before the connection shutdown has been completed by rx/tx threads, that causes isert_free_conn() to wait indefinately on ->conn_wait. This patch allows isert_disconnect_work code to invoke rdma_disconnect when isert_disconnect_work() process context is started by client session reset before isert_free_conn() code has been reached. It also adds isert_conn->conn_mutex protection for ->state within isert_disconnect_work(), isert_cq_comp_err() and isert_free_conn() code, along with isert_check_state() for wait_event usage. [ Upstream commit d4b812dea4a236f729526facf97df1a9d18e191c ] In commit 48cc32d38a52d0b68f91a171a8d00531edc6a46e ("vlan: don't deliver frames for unknown vlans to protocols") Florian made sure we set pkt_type to PACKET_OTHERHOST if the vlan id is set and we could find a vlan device for this particular id. But we also have a problem if prio bits are set. Steinar reported an issue on a router receiving IPv6 frames with a vlan tag of 4000 (id 0, prio 2), and tunneled into a sit device, because skb->vlan_tci is set. Forwarded frame is completely corrupted : We can see (8100:4000) being inserted in the middle of IPv6 source address : 16:48:00.780413 IP6 2001:16d8:8100:4000:ee1c:0:9d9:bc87 > 9f94:4d95:2001:67c:29f4::: ICMP6, unknown icmp6 type (0), length 64 0x0000: 0000 0029 8000 c7c3 7103 0001 a0ae e651 0x0010: 0000 0000 ccce 0b00 0000 0000 1011 1213 0x0020: 1415 1617 1819 1a1b 1c1d 1e1f 2021 2223 0x0030: 2425 2627 2829 2a2b 2c2d 2e2f 3031 3233 It seems we are not really ready to properly cope with this right now. 2013-07-21nbd: correct disconnect behaviorPaul Clements
commit c378f70adbc1bbecd9e6db145019f14b2f688c7c upstream. Currently, when a disconnect is requested by the user (via NBD_DISCONNECT ioctl) the return from NBD_DO_IT is undefined (it is usually one of several error codes). This means that nbd-client does not know if a manual disconnect was performed or whether a network error occurred. Because of this, nbd-client's persist mode (which tries to reconnect after error, but not after manual disconnect) does not always work correctly. This change fixes this by causing NBD_DO_IT to always return 0 if a user requests a disconnect. This means that nbd-client can correctly either persist the connection (if an error occurred) or disconnect (if the user requested it).
