Both ARM and ARM64 stubs will update the device tree
that they pass to the kernel. In both cases they
primarily need to add the same UEFI related information,
so the function can be shared.

EFI calls can made directly on ARM, so the function pointers
are directly invoked. This allows types to be checked at
compile time, so here we ensure that the parameters match
the function signature. The wrappers used by x86 prevent
any type checking.
Correct the type of chunksize to be based on native
width as specified by the EFI_FILE_PROTOCOL read()
function.

The handle_cmdline_files now takes the option to handle as a string,
and returns the loaded data through parameters, rather than taking
an x86 specific setup_header structure. For ARM, this will be used
to load a device tree blob in addition to initrd images.

Make efi_free() safely callable with size of 0, similar to free() being
callable with NULL pointers, and do nothing in that case.
Remove size checks that this makes redundant. This also avoids some
size checks in the ARM EFI stub code that will be added as well.

Move the open-coded conversion to a shared function for
use by all architectures. Change the allocation to prefer
a high address for ARM, as this is required to avoid conflicts
with reserved regions in low memory. We don't know the specifics
of these regions until after we process the command line and

Rename relocate_kernel() to efi_relocate_kernel(), and take
parameters rather than x86 specific structure. Add max_addr
argument as for ARM we have some address constraints that we
need to enforce when relocating the kernel. Add alloc_size
parameter for use by ARM64 which uses an uncompressed kernel,
and needs to allocate space for BSS.

The efi_high_alloc() and efi_low_alloc() functions
use the EFI_ALLOCATE_ADDRESS option to the EFI
function allocate_pages(), which requires a minimum
of page alignment, and rejects all other requests.
The existing code could fail to allocate depending
on allocation size, as although repeated allocation
attempts were made, none were guaranteed to be page
aligned.

Add system table pointer argument to shared EFI stub related functions
so they no longer use a global system table pointer as they did when part
of eboot.c. For the ARM EFI stub this allows us to avoid global
variables completely and thereby not have to deal with GOT fixups.
Not having the EFI stub fixup its GOT, which is shared with the
decompressor, simplifies the relocating of the zImage to a
bootable address.

While getting support for In-Kernel-Switcher in big LITTLE cpufreq driver we
introduced cpu_last_req_freq per-cpu variable that stores the last frequency
requested for a cpu. It was important for IKS as CPUs in the same cluster can
have separate struct cpufreq_policy associated with them and so cpufreq core may
try to set different frequencies on both CPUs of same cluster.
But for non-IKS solution or MP we don't need to cache last requested frequency.
Currently there is a bug in code where if cpufreq_driver->get() is called for
any cpu other than policy->cpu, we are returning 0, because we set
cpu_last_req_freq only for policy->cpu and not for others.
This problem could have been fixed by setting cpu_last_req_freq for all CPUs in
policy->cpus, but that wouldn't be the best solution. Purpose of
cpufreq_driver->get() is to get exact frequency from the hardware instead of
returning cached frequency that was last requested as that is already present
with the core.
Hence, this patch forces only IKS to use cpu_last_req_freq and not MP. We will
get the frequency from hardware when ->get() is called for MP.

on/off
When a cpu goes down, exit would be called for it. Similarly for every cpu up
init would be called. This would result in same freq table and clk structure to
get freed/allocated again. There is no way for freq table/clk structures to
change between these calls.
Also, when we disable switcher, firstly cpufreq unregister would be called and
hence exit for all cpus and then register would be called, i.e. init would be
called.
For saving time/energy for both cases, lets not free table/clk until module exit
is not done.

This patch adds IKS (In Kernel Switcher) support to cpufreq driver. This creates
separate freq table for A7-A15 cpu pair. A7 frequency is virtualized and is
halved, so that it touches boundaries with A7 frequencies.

cpufreq_stat has registered notifiers with both cpufreq and cpu core. It adds
cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/stats/ directory with a notifier of cpufreq CPUFREQ_NOTIFY and
removes this directory with a notifier to cpu core.
On bL_switcher enable/disable, cpufreq drivers notifiers gets called and they
call cpufreq_unregister(), followed by cpufreq_register(). For unregister stats
directories per cpu aren't removed, because cpu never went to dead state and cpu
notifier isn't called.
When cpufreq_register() is called, we try to add these directories again and
that simply fails, as directories were already present.
Fix these issues by registering cpufreq_stats too with bL_switcher notifiers, so
that they get unregistered and registered on switcher enable/disable.

The regular gic_raise_softirq() takes as input a CPU mask which is not
adequate when we need to send an IPI to a CPU which is not represented
in the kernel to GIC mapping. That is the case with the b.L switcher
when GIC migration to the inbound CPU has not yet occurred.

In order to have early assembly code signal other CPUs in the system,
we need to get the physical address for the SGIR register used to
send IPIs. Because the register will be used with a precomputed CPU
interface ID number, there is no need for any locking in the assembly
code where this register is written to.

Currently, GIC IDs are hardcoded making the code dependent on the 4+4 b.L
configuration. Let's allow for GIC IDs to be discovered upon switcher
initialization to support other b.L configurations such as the 1+1 one,
or 2+3 as on the VExpress TC2.

This is required by the big.LITTLE switcher code.
The gic_migrate_target() changes the CPU interface mapping for the
current CPU to redirect SGIs to the specified interface, and it also
updates the target CPU for each interrupts to that CPU interface
if they were targeting the current interface. Finally, pending
SGIs for the current CPU are forwarded to the new interface.
Because Linux does not use it, the SGI source information for the
forwarded SGIs is not preserved. Neither is the source information
for the SGIs sent by the current CPU to other CPUs adjusted to match
the new CPU interface mapping. The required registers are banked so
only the target CPU could do it.

And one pain in the ass revert, so we have VGA arbitration that when
implemented 4-5 years ago really hoped that GPUs could remove
themselves from arbitration completely once they had a kernel driver.
It seems Intel hw designers decided that was too nice a facility to
allow us to have so they removed it when they went on-die (so since
Ironlake at least). Now Alex Williamson added support for VGA
arbitration for newer GPUs however this now exposes itself to
userspace as requireing arbitration of GPU VGA regions and the X
server gets involved and disables things that it can't handle when VGA
access is possibly required around every operation.
So in order to not break userspace we just reverted things back to the
old known broken status so maybe we can try and design out way out.

needs to access VGA space, that might be acceptable with some rework,

This reverts commit 81b5c7bc8de3e6f63419139c2fc91bf81dea8a7d.
Adding drm/i915 into the vga arbiter chain means that X (in a piece of
well-meant paranoia) will do a get/put on the vga decoding around
_every_ accel call down into the ddx. Which results in some nice
performance disasters [1]. This really breaks userspace, by disabling
DRI for everyone, and stops OpenGL from working, this isn't limited
to just the i915 but both the integrated and discrete GPUs on
multi-gpu systems, in other words this causes untold worlds of pain,
Ville tried to come up with a Great Hack to fiddle the required VGA
I/O ops behind everyone's back using stop_machine, but that didn't
really work out [2]. Given that we're fairly late in the -rc stage for
such games let's just revert this all.
One thing we might want to keep is to delay the disabling of the vga
decoding until the fbdev emulation and the fbcon screen is set up. If
we kill vga mem decoding beforehand fbcon can end up with a white
square in the top-left corner it tried to save from the vga memory for
a seamless transition. And we have bug reports on older platforms
which seem to match these symptoms.
But again that's something to play around with in -next.
