2015-11-09rtlwifi: rtl8821ae: Fix system lockups on bootLarry Finger
commit 54328e64047a54b8fc2362c2e1f0fa16c90f739f upstream. In commit 1277fa2ab2f9 ("rtlwifi: Remove the clear interrupt routine from all drivers"), the code that cleared all interrupt enable bits before setting them was removed for all PCI drivers. This fixed an issue that caused TX to be blocked for 3-5 seconds. On some RTL8821AE units, this change causes soft lockups to occur on boot. For that reason, the portion of the earlier commit that applied to rtl8821ae is reverted. Kernels 4.1 and newer are affected. Note that this bug does not appear on any of the developer's setups. 2015-02-06rtlwifi: rtl8192ee: Fix problems with calculating free space in FIFOLarry Finger
This driver utilizes a FIFO buffer for RX descriptors. There are four places in the code where it calculates the number of free slots. Several of those locations do the calculation incorrectly. To fix these and to prevent future mistakes, a common inline routine is created. rtlwifi only provides pm callbacks for functions covered by pm sleep and they are also just called if CONFIG_PM_SLEEP is set. Only add functions rtl_pci_suspend and rtl_pci_resume if CONFIG_PM_SLEEP is set and use SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS instead of manually filling struct dev_pm_ops. 2012-01-30rtlwifi: Convert to asynchronous firmware loadLarry Finger
This patch addresses a kernel bugzilla report and two recent mail threads. The kernel bugzilla report is https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42632, which reports a udev timeout on boot. The first mail thread, which was on LKML (http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/ linux/kernel/1112.3/00965.html) was for a WARNING that occurs after a suspend/resume cycle for rtl8192cu. The scond mail thread (http://marc.info/?l=linux-wireless&m=132655490826766&w=2) concerned changes in udev that break drivers that delay while firmware is loaded on modprobe. This patch converts all rtlwifi-based drivers to use the asynchronous firmware loading mechanism. Drivers rtl8192ce, rtl8192cu and rtl8192de share a common callback routine.
